Q: Where do you live and what do you do in real life?
A: I live in Reno and am an entrepreneur. I am currently working on opening Hammer and Nails (grooming for guys) franchises.
Q: What are your weaknesses?
A: Baked goods, banana bread…and attention detail
Q: Why are you training?
A: To stay healthy and fit; be competitive in races; and add triathlon in to my life. I like that I can be anywhere in the world and ride wherever and whenever I want to. I also enjoy the ability to explore cities, worldwide via running..
Q: Do you partake in any Dai Endurance Classes/Training/Fitting?
A: Julie creates a training plan and provides bike fits for me. We also do on-bike training and open water swim sessions together.
Q: What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen on a bike ride?
A: When two 80 year-olds cruised past us on bikes in Provence, France. We killed ourselves chasing them, but could not catch them. Come to find out, they were on e-bikes.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat post training?
A: Chips and diet coke…
Q: Why do you train with Dai Endurance?
A: I like the outcome and results. I like structured training. I have never had an injury due to over-training. I like Julie’s approach to training including the priority to train hard and rest/recovery hard. I also like that Julie is nearby and we can train together. The value by far exceeds the cost.
Q: What’s your ideal sporting event to attend or compete?
A: Long gravel races, flat road races and crits.
Q: How do you stop yourself from eating unhealthy foods?
A: Go somewhere there is no refrigerator.. and knowing an event is coming up in the next 10 day
Q: What’s the strangest or most embarrassing crash you’ve ever
A: Time trial training, I took the bike out the car. Biked for 10 yards, hit a crack (direction of travel), came to a dead stop, and I summersaulted over the bike. That was the end of TT training..
Q: What do you think about during long training rides/runs/workouts to stave off the boredom?
A: I listen to music, and think about business and my next trips.
